My Network TV
MyNetwork TV which is also called as MyNet, MNTV or MYTV is the television broadcast service of US, which is owned by Fox Entertainment Group which is a small division of the News Corporation. It is a sister company of Fox Network and operates independently. The service as chairman is overseen by Roger Alies by Fox Television Stations Group (FTSG).
MyNetwork TV was launched on Sep 25, 2006 and its early affiliate lineup covered more than ninety six percent of country out of which many were affiliated to former UPN and Warner Bros. On Sep 28, 2009, MyNetwork TV dropped its status as TV network after disappointment with its network results and transformed to syndication programming service like Warner Bros prime time Entertainment Network and Universal Action pack.
MyNetwork TV’s original format was targeted towards a English speaking population of age group eighteen to forty nine years old, with programs mostly containing telenovas starting with Fashion House and Desire. Actually it was aired during Weekdays from Monday to Friday as 13 week season with a recap of 1 hour during Saturdays and after an end of series in 1 week, a new series would start in the consecutive week. The 5th and 6th series, “Saints and Sinners” and “American Heiress” appeared 1 hour each week during Wednesdays after vanishing from schedule abruptly. The serial lineup of MyNetwork TV was telecasted in Australia as Foxtelenovela in W.Channel. The Desire/Fashion House Cycle was aired during weekday afternoon in Toronto on Sun TV, but they did not air the later cycles due to unknown reasons.
After the announcement of a new network, there were many current-affairs programs also called reality shows in development. These shows included Catwalk, which is a series very similar to America’s Next Top Model, An US version of Britain’s Brainiest a famous quiz show, On Scene, which was a crime based news magazine created by Fox News and lastly an American version of popular ITV series “Love Island”. MyNetworkTV stopped these programs during summer 2006 and started to focus solely on Televnovas. MyNetworkTV later announced additional programs like repeats of Desperate Housewives, My games Fever, a game show during day-time and also “Tyle Perry’s House of Payne” another famous show. MyNetworkTV does not show children’s programs through some affiliates present Cookie Jar Entertainment. Also it broadcasts sports and entertainment news programs like NFL Total Access and Access Hollywood.
