Cable News Network, which is generally called as CNN is the United stated cable news channel which was founded by Ted Turner in the year 1980. When it was launched, CNN was 1st channel to provide 24 hour TV news coverage and the first new television network in US. When the news network included many affiliates, CNN basically broadcasts from CNN Center headquarters in Atlanta and the Time Warner Center present in New York. CNN is also called as CNN/U.S. for distinguishing it as the North American Channel since there is another international counterpart named CNN international. CNN has been available to more than ninety three million US homes when considering June 2008.
The broadcast coverage has been extended to more than 890,000 hotel rooms in America and the broadcast is seen only in Canada. CNN programming has been aired only through CNN international, which could be seen by the viewers in more than 212 territories and countries. When considering Nielsen’s rating, CNN has been rated as the no.2 cable news channel and has got many visitors.
The Cable News Network was launched during June 1, 1980. Ted Turner made the invocation and it was followed by 1st newscast by the couple David Walker and Lois Hart. CNN has expanded the reach to many satellite and cable networks, various websites, radio networks and special closed-circuit networks like CNN Airport Network. The network has more than thirty six bureaus which included ten domestic and twenty six international bureaus and more than nine hundred local stations.
CNN HD is the high definition version of CNN with 1080i resolution and was launched by CNN in 2007 September. Most of the regular shows that were based on CNN studio in New York City including Lou Dobbs Tonight, American Morning, Fareed Zakaria, Anderson Cooper 360, Your Money, State of the Union with John King, Campell Brown: No Bull, No Bias are all telecasted in HD with many special events. Most of the special events are aired in HD. CNN also has the news website CNN.com which is ranked in 3rd place among the global online news websites with unique users in United states after Yahoo News and MSNBC.com. CNN Pipeline is the paid subscription service for the website with content deliver clients who provided live video streams with 4 sources.
